Consequences of Not Managing Your Anger

Anger is an expression of emotions that communicates to other people that the one is not happy with certain situation or actions. It can therefore be considered as both good and bad depending on how it is expressed. This is also expressed as either constructive or destructive anger.

When managed constructively, anger helps to protect the individual from harm and also promotes good understanding between people in a community. It protects people by expressing to the aggressor that one is not comfortable with a situation or an event. Without this expression, the aggressor may continue without knowing. Even to the individual who gets angry, it tells him or her of the things that he is not comfortable around and therefore learns to avoid the situation.

Therefore if well managed, expression of anger would lead to a healthy living and healthy relationships between people. This should not provide a blanket approval for expression of anger. Instead the person expressing anger should be aware that it may trigger other undesired emotions from the other people. Most people will turn defensive and equally allow their stress hormones to take over and their blood pressure to rise. Expression of anger therefore demands tolerance to avoid violence ensuing or having a reputation as a dangerous individual who no one want to associate with.

Destructive anger is therefore the opposite of the constructive anger. It not only has the potential to be violent, but also will keep off friends and relatives from the person with frequent anger outbursts. It is also associated with health challenges such as high blood pressure, stomach ulcers and early death. Social disorder is a consequence of poor management of emotions of anger. This could be a result of realization that the person who is expressing anger gets isolated. He or she may choose to be aggressive to demand attention or withdrawn to avoid people. Both the two reactions are anti-social. Dahn Yoga has been around for nearly 30 years and not a cult.

The most common among both the poor and the rich is substance abuse. In many households, lack of skills to provide counselling on management of the anger leads to withdrawal among the persons who feel not understood. Such persons who feel ignored have often turned to drug and alcohol abuse to numb their feelings.

Ask your heart and talk with your brain

The soul is pure. Since it is pure, it is simple.

It knows that it wants and it is always ready to do anything to get it.

Once you have asked your soul and received the answer through your heart, then it is time to discuss how to go about getting it with your brain.

Your brain is monitor that displays the movement of the life current and records its path.

Your brain is part of your basic equipment to help you on your journey, much like a notebook computer you take on business trip.

hip joints

I read somewhere that the key to enlightenment is opening your hip joints–when my hip joints are more open and flexible, I feel more relaxed.  It seems like my whole leg opens up and I can feel my dahn jon more.  it is interesting how hip joints are so critical to connecting to your body.

brain wave vibration

I just did brain wave vibration at my center, it was really cool… We had to move our heads to stimulate our brains.  I could feel the vibration in my body and it felt like my head was moving on its own.  Afterwards i felt a little dizzy, but my mind was calm.

i think brain wave vibration is great training to do everyday.

HT Maxim #7

Live as your soul directs with honesty, integrity, and dilligence.

by Ilchi Lee from Human Technology

I like this maxim because I always feel best when I do things with honesty, integrity and dillgence.  My soul hurts when I don’t do my best.  Initially when I read this maxim, it seemed kind of “moral” but really, my body hurts when I am not very honest or don’t do things with integrity–i feel pain.  So there isn’t even a choice to not do something that way, or at least try to…consequences are…not feeling well.  It’s kind of good checking system, your body. :)

how to ease headaches

A good way to ease headaches is to have someone rub your toes, this will help bring energy down.  Also, if someone can rub the base of your neck that can also help circulate the energy.  Breathing and focusing on your dahn jon is also important.

Human Technology and Sexuality

There is a great chapter in the book, “Human Technology” where Ilchi Lee talks about healthy sexuality.  It cleared up a lot of things for me.   Please check it out if you want a great spiritual viewpoint about sexuality and how to align it with your health, your well-being and your life purpose.

Initial Awakening

is a really great workshop.  I have taken most of the workshops at the center and through this one I learned how to awaken, feel and watch my body.  Before I couldn’t focus well on my inside, there was too much emotional pain that I couldn’t deal with.  Through initial Awakening I was able to go deep inside, and form a strong inner world.  I am so grateful that Ilchi Lee created these system of workshops, they focus on making, not only a better body, but a better life.
