teaching class

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to teach class at the center.  After I taught class I could feel my brain waves connect to the bigger energy, and I became more calm than I have in a while.  I realized that what I was doing right now, in teach class, was taking action…and I was so grateful for the members for giving me the opportunity to teach class for them.  It allowed me to connect to the cosmic energy in a bigger way.   Teaching is really learning for me.  I can see how when Ilchi Lee says to just take action–and all of the learning will come with it.

suppressed emotions

According to Ilchi Lee, when we have suppressed emotions and memories it can decrease the function of your brain.  Sometimes I thought holding things in was not a big deal, but now I realize that we cannot be controlled by these emotions, it eventually weakens our body and our spirit.  Emotions are beautiful but we cannot be a slave to them.

Dreaming and meditating

Brainwaves  when you are in meditation slows down to simulate the waves of the dreaming state.  So meditating is like wakeful sleep.  Meditating is a conscious choice we make to allow our brains to rejuvenate and relax.  It is like sending our brains to a health spa.

Knee Rotation in Dahn Yoga

1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Place your hands on your hips. Keep your spine straight and relaxed. 2. Inhale. Bend your knees approximately fifteen degrees. 3. Rotate your knees to the left slowly three times in a clockwise circle, then breathe out. Repeat three times counterclockwise, with the same breathing pattern. 4. Repeat the rotation, only this time to the right side. 5. Repeat the sequence five times on the left and five times on the right. Focus on your knees becoming warmer while performing this exercise. 6. Now, facing forward, inhale and deepen your bend. Hold this position for as long as comfortable. Exhale and return to standing position. Repeat fifteen times. Increase the length of time you hold this position as you progress in your practice. Precaution: Keep your back straight and relaxed with feet parallel to your shoulders.

Dahn Yoga exercises for your knees

Knee pain is not usually cured quickly with simple pain medication over a short period of time. And because treatment often is long term, many people mistakenly think chronic knee pain is incurable. However, through lifestyle changes, especially exercise, one can control knee pain. The Do-in exercises described in this article are composed of light movements that will strengthen the muscles and ligaments around your joints. Practicing these exercises regularly will improve energy circulation in your knees, which both prevents and treats symptoms. Progressive inflammation of the joints can be deterred. As energy and blood circulate freely throughout your system, the flexibility and strength of muscles and ligaments are increased. There is also an attendant increase in range of motion, which further protects the knee joint.

Dahn Yoga is good for your knee trouble

According to the

National Center for Health Statistics, more than 5 million people in the

United States
visit the offices of orthopedic surgeons each year for the treatment of knee problems. More than 3 million of the visits are injury-related; the remaining are due to arthritis and other disorders. Causes of knee pain include injury, degeneration, arthritis, infection, and bone tumors. Pain can be induced by excessive weight, overuse, poor posture during physical activity, not warming up or cooling down and inadequate stretching. Knees are especially vulnerable to inflammation, degenerative arthritis and pain because of the weight they bear. When energy and blood circulation in the knees becomes compromised and restricted, there can be considerable pain. Unfortunately, when a person experiences pain from inflammation, the inclination is to avoid movement. This can create a vicious cycle leading to immobilization of the joint and, ultimately, reduced function. To maximize the restoration of movement, energy blockages must be released to facilitate proper function. Sometimes energy and blood circulation must be augmented.

hands

I’ve noticed about my hands lately–they are changing with the energy–before they were very dry and now they have more moisture on them.  More energy is flowing through.  Our hands are connected to our heart, and I think the more my heart opens the more my energy will flow.  Also i want to build the power of my hands–so I can make them strong and healthy.  Hands say a lot about our energy and how we use it!

Trust my brain

How can I trust my brain?  It is so hardwired to think and deliberate about things.  I wish I could just say something and then my body will trust my brain to do it.  That is the goal that i wish to have.  Ilchi Lee says to “Ask your brain, trust your brain.” I will make these my habits.
