Life is suffering

I’ve heard this priciple a lot from my dahn yoga studies, it’s the one that is the hardest for me to grasp: the other 2 are, life is transient and life is nothingness (mu-hwa).  The last 2, I pretty much accept on a regular basis, not that I don’t have any problems, but I accept it more.  But the first one is so hard for me.  I think deep down, i still cannot accept suffering…I want people to be happy, peaceful and comfortable.  I want to be comfortable more than anything.  But I suppose, there is a basic suffering in the fact that we are human, but we have souls and it is hard to access our soul at all times…kind of like a caged bird.  Anyone have insights on how I can better accept that Life is suffering?

What do you think

What do you think about the Brain’s full potential?  What do you think is possible if we awaken and utilize 100% of our brains capabilities.  Ilchi Lee’s says anything is possible if we use 100% of our brains

When girls become teenagers…

I heard that when girls come into their teens, 12, 13 yrs old, they lose a lot of their self-confidence.  Their ability in math and sciences drops, when only 3 or 4 years ago they were doing just as well as, or better than boys.  How can we give girls more confidence in their minds and bodies so they will not fall into that pattern?  I know that if girls had brain education, their would be more esteem in girls.  I am wondering if there are specific programs for teenagers in Dahn yoga?  I know there are ones for adults and little kids, but what about teens?

Wherefore art thou…?

“Romeo, romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?”

Why is it that we are who we are? This is a simple but dreadfully deep question. We tend to ask these questions of those we trust: our parents, teachers, guides, leaders, etc.

3 needs…

In Dahn hak, it is said that as human beings we have 3 needs: need for recognition, need for control, need for safety…

how can we recognize these needs as just human needs and not fall into them too much?  how can I love them and bring them in as a part of me?

Science

The more I study Ilchi Lee’s Brain Education I feel like I am studying science on more of an self experiencial level.  I sometimes create theories based on my experiences.  For instance if energy is a form of matter and since we cannot destroy matter the only other thing we can do is change it form (solid – to – liquid – to gas – etc.).  Then there is the old saying about mind over matter.  In the Brain Education schools they teach where the mind goes energy follows.  Keeping that in mind can’t we change matter with our mind’s power?
